Mark Springer Youth Travel Grant Program Information

In partnership with the USA Track & Field Foundation, USATF announces the 2006 Mark Springer Youth Travel Grant program to aid in bringing athletes to USATF's four National Youth and Junior championship events this year:

6/22-25	USA Junior Outdoor T&F Championships	Indianapolis, IN
6/27 - 7/2	USA Youth Outdoor T&F Championships	Greensboro, NC
7/25-30	USATF National Junior Olympic T&F Championships	Baltimore, MD
12/9	USATF National Junior Olympic XC Championships	Spokane, WA

The deadline to submit grant applications is May 1, 2006. Clubs must have their club membership renewed prior to April 21, 2006 be eligible to receive a grant.

Late Fee Implemented For Club Membership Renewals Received After May 1

Clubs are reminded that starting this year a $100 late fee will be charged if your club’s membership is not renewed prior to May 1. This late fee only applies to renewing competitive clubs. Organizational memberships (event organizers, timing companies, corporations, etc.) and clubs who do not have athletes representing the club in sanctioned competitions are exempt from this late fee but still encouraged to renew their membership now. The late fee is in addition to the annual club membership fee.

Club Championship Series Schedule Set
Clubs with open athletes (female 14yrs+; male 16yrs+) should mark their calendars for a full slate of club championship events in 2006. The Club Championship schedule provides clubs a chance to showcase their talents and earn national bragging rights.

USA Masters Outdoor Track & Field Championships
Entry and meet information on this summer’s USA Masters Outdoor Track & Field Championships to be held August 3-6 in Charlotte, NC is now available online at http://www.usatf.org/events/2006/USAMastersOutdoorTFChampionships/. Nearly 1,000 of the nation’s finest athletes over the age of 30 are expected to compete in Charlotte for national age division bragging-rights.
